This THURSDAY night, November 4th at 8pm, I’m playing a songwriting showcase at The White Mule (www.thewhitemule.com) in Columbia, SC alongside some fabulous talent. It is Ladies’ Night, featuring a stellar line-up of artists from Charleston, Columbia and Atlanta: Danielle Howle, Cary Ann Hearst, Hannah Miller, Lindsay Holler, Haley Dreis, Megan Jean, and myself.
Check out this article in Charleston Magazine. It covers some local Charleston Singer/Songwriters that I love and support, including Danielle Howle and Lindsay Holler. I’m looking forward to meeting Danielle for the first time after hearing so many good things about her. A true and unique talent from the Lowcountry. And this will be my second run-in with the gifted, Lindsay Holler. Her voice kills and she’s just freakin’ cool. Excited to see these girls rock.
Last time I played with Cary Ann Hearst in Cola, we sat at the bar and talked about cooking. Love her. She and her hubby/bandmate, Michael Trent, are not only ridiculously talented songwriters and musicians, but they are genuinely the nicest people. And they know how to put on a good show! The latest update from the road… they’re new band name is officially ‘Shovels & Rope’, which was also the title of their latest duo project. Cary Ann has an amazing voice and she brings it every time she plays.
I’m heading down to Columbia a little early to write with my good friend, Hannah Miller, who has been making good stuff happen recently. She released her latest EP, A Journey To The Moon, in August. Go get it on iTunes… it’ll make you DANCEEEE!
I am looking forward to meeting Haley Dreis in person after emailing with her for a while, even though she goes to the University of South Carolina. I’ll forgive her eventually. ;)
Megan Jean is a Charleston girl that I am anxious to meet as well. She plays with her band, Megan Jean and The KFB.
