Mumford & Sons.
I haven’t been a huge fan of the folk, banjo-driven bands because I think I pay too much attention to the vocal parts and the songs are boring. The Avett Brothers for example. They’re talented and unique and obviously have something going for them because people LOVE them, but I feel like I’m missing something. I don’t need to hear they’re songs over and over again like I wish I did. So now I’m guilty of writing off those kinds of bands pretty quickly.
But Mumford & Sons are different. I really like their music. And I want to hear more. The guy’s voice is good and the harmonies are awesome. The songs have meaning and the melodies are the ones you crave to hear from this type of band. I can imagine their live show kills. It must. Every show I can see on their website is already SOLD OUT. They don’t have a drummer and they rock out to a banjo solo. It’s different. But Mumford & Sons makes it cool.
This is what I’m listening to today … over and over again.
This is the video for their song ‘The Cave’. I love that this song makes me want to dance around and be free. It gives me that hopeful feeling.
Hope you enjoy! :)
